Despite a slow start to structuring my newly launched website due to family demands, I did manage to commit to a daily drawing challenge for the month of October...What a feat! While I'm someone who does practice my art almost daily, working on a different drawing with a structured theme each day, every day for 31 days was not a small exercise. I decided to work on a subject I love best within the context of the season. Inktober, a drawing challenge that runs the duration of October was started by an incredibly talented illustrator and cartoonist named Jake Parker. You can find him and follow his work on Instagram. He pioneered the event and issues a list early before the start of the month listing daily prompts to spark the imagination to create a new image story for each day of October. I love the whole concept, but as this was my first time engaging in such an exercise and....since I'm truly a dog lover who knew I'd best keep my interest by creating new work each day that tickled me....I chose to modify the event and joined the Inktober community with 31 days of dogs in costume. With my Micron and Faber Castell pens I drew dogs I love, dogs I know and dogs I found who "wore it best".

See below for a selection of the sweet faces who endured the humiliation of being paraded by their two legged parents in costumes they probably didn't love wearing! Find all my posts on my Instagram account....https://www.instagram.com/gwen.e.harper/
